Post-Graduate Work Permit Update

As the year ends, many students are completing their degrees this month. For some students, the PGWP (Post-Graduate Work Permit) is key to working full-time in Canada, continuing to grow professionally, and to ultimately accessing pathways to permanent residency in the country.

Note that the official IRCC's website on PGWP has been updated on December 10th, 2025, showing much-needed clarity on topics such as:

  • When the student can work full-time while waiting for the PGWP approval.

  • What to do if your study permit expires before you can apply for a PGWP.

  • Field of study requirements and exemptions.

  • Where to include your English/French Test Results

We recommend reading this website thoroughly as it contains useful information. Always refer to the original source (IRCC) and check when the website was last modified, and scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page.

We understand all this information can be overwhelming, so if you still need assistance after reading the information, do not hesitate to contact us. We can explore your options, processing times, and pros and cons of every possible alternative.
